Thanet Hotel Annex ★★★

Staff friendly and accommodating, let me leave my bags during the day after I checked out which saved my lugging them around town. Cheap for the location. Room clean and tidy.

Bed was very old mattress, saggy. Whole place very worn and in need of decoration.

Staff were excellent. Attentive and helpful.

Bathrooms were terrible. Small and the toilet and shower are in the same room. Gross.

The hotel offers a basic experience with minimal amenities in an aging property. However, its prime location stands out as a major advantage. Ideal for those seeking a no-frills stay close to key attractions like Piccadilly circus, Leicester square. The staff was lovely, very kind.

Our room was situated in the basement, which was suitable for our purpose as we primarily needed a place to sleep after attending the New Year's party. However, it's worth noting that the property itself is quite old. Nothing fancy. It didn’t have a lift. It wasn’t as clean as it could have been.

When we arrived it took 10 minutes for someone at the front desk to arrive to check us in. We were opening various doors saying “hello?” hoping we could find anyone. If you’re going to have an associate away from the desk for stretches of time, you should at least have a way to easily page them so they know. guest is at the desk. The room is a sad yellow and you could feel every spring in the mattress. It was nice that there was a sink in the room but the dripping sound it made after the faucet turned off was so untenable that and went on for so long that we never used it again. If you want something cheap, are going to be mostly out and about, and don’t mind a springy mattress, this will do, but you really do get what you pay for.

Bed mattress was cheap and uncomfortable. No glass for water. Not enough toilet paper. Staff were off hand.

Helpful staff, good location

Everything was grubby. The mattress had these plastic buttons that kept digging in to me, making for a very uncomfortable night. The floor was wonky, only a few degrees, but enough to be disorienting. No beside light or table

Location is superb, everything you might need is around the corner. The bed was very comfortable.

No mirror in the room. No table lamp neither. No socket next to the bed. It was also pretty cold, the heating wasn’t working. Shower in the shared bathroom was leaking in a few places.

Sad room without amenities, with old furniture, no bathroom, no breakfast. The room was in the basement and had to go through an armoire to go to the bathroom outside the room. Over priced for the quality presented.

It's location is in central London, which was why I picked it

I couldn't fit everything that was wrong into 200 characters. The 'en-suite' looked like it had come from a caravan. the curtains didn't fit. There was no fan, no kettle. I was there for two nights and the bed didn't even get made or the towels replaced. I will never go there again.

Very disinterested staff. Can't believe how disengaged they were. Old rooms. Top floor was very hot and stuffy. No lift. Though you can expect that in much of London. If service was improved it would go a long way to improve impressions.

It's kind of clean. And the TV works. The location is great. Underground and the hop-on hop-off very near.

It is not very comfortable. The bed is bad, the rooms are very hot, and don't let them place you in the basement, in any circumstance. The common bathrooms are ok in the first and second floor. The ground floor bathroom is not good and it is also the bathroom for the basement rooms. It's a cheat dump, but with a nice location and kind of friendly staff.

I can't understand how this property is called and licensed as a hotel. Does the authority ever reveiw it? I wouldnt expect to find something of this sort from booking.com. I travel frequently but this hotel is the worse ever and nastily unclean.

Everything from the entrance inwards it is hard to find something to like.

I’ve worked in better homeless hostels. For £65 a night you too could experience basic rooms squeaky beds itchy bedding. Hot water from cold tap. No kettles. poor security on doors windows that have to be held up with locks as theyj are rotting away. Shared bathrooms noisy corridors and slamming doors I think I got two hours sleep Dreadful place. No effort made by owners to develop the place I’d avoid it like the plague. Quite honestly I don’t know how Camden council license the place as habitable.

The smell was awful. The carpet & furnishings were tatty and unclean - ugh. The furniture and bathroom were old and in a very bad state. I couldn’t bear it. Even basic hotels could be clean.

Location convenient to Holborn.

Room down in the cellar with no a/c but a window which had to be left open for fresh air facing a stairwell. Wash hand basin in the room - waste was blocked and hot water tap did not work. No kettle or tea making facility. No breakfast available - why call it a B & b. ?

Don’t book this hotel stay away, the best thing of this hotel is the road outside. See other people’s comments not one person has a good word ( unfortunately we didn’t) rude unhelpful staff/ old second hand furnishings/1 thin plastic coat hanger damaged sink, toilet/ no kettle or tea coffee facilities one light in room that had to be switched on to get the light in the plastic pod toilet to work, we spent the night on top of the bed fully clothed. Fred West cellar would be more inviting. Please stay away

Stay away this place is a dump the worst place I’ve ever seen we had a room in what could only be called a painted cellar old second hand furniture. Lights not working dirty carpets damaged toilet / sink Don’t let the nice street outside fool you it is an insult to other hardworking people who run decent hotels trying hard to satisfy every visitor. Please stay away
